1 - How it all began? from the formation to the choice of name?
About 3 years ago Steven (lead guitar) and Cory (drums) were in a band in Tampa FL. TJ was a mutual friend of theirs. They all decided to move to Tennessee, and long story short, TJ replaced the original vocalist of the group. They changed the name to represent their home in Florida. There is a saying that Florida is home to 'the newly-weds and the nearly-deads". After forming the group they added the last members, Kevin (bass) and Brandon (guitar) via Craigslist ads!
2-What was the hardest decision I had to make throughout your career?
We have been very fortunate and haven't had a lot of problems along the way. We see everything in a positive light, and we are very lucky to be doing what we're doing. I think the hardest decisions are yet to come. For us, a lot of opportunities just fall into our laps! So I'd say so far, the hardest decision we've made was deciding on the name: Nearly Dead? The Nearly Dead, Nearly Deads, or The Nearly Deads.
3-Who would like to play?
We would love to tour with The Used or My Chemical Romance.
4-How is your relationship with fans?
We LOVE our fans and we know we wouldn't be anywhere without them. We run our own Facebook and Twitter accounts, and we each have personal Twitters that we keep up with regularly. We try to respond to every email and let people know we care. It is still very awesome to us that anyone cares about us at all!
5 - All bands have their referrals, we would like to know the bands that are
influences you, and the more that you have heard today?
We all love Foo Fighters, there's a lot of Smashing Pumpkins in our sound as well. Nirvana, Hole, The Distillers, Garbage, Taking Back Sunday, My Chem., The Used, and Rise Against are all big influences to us.
6-What is the biggest dream of yours?
We want to play Wembley Stadium! Mostly, our biggest dream is just to be established, respected in the industry, and to have life-long careers. That would be nice.
7 - What do you do in your spare time?
TJ spends time watching Law and Order SVU, browsing Pinterest, and playing with her 2 cats. Steve plays a lot of video games, especially Resident Evil. Cory watches a lot of documentaries and is addicted to iReddit. Kevin creeps on Facebook all day, and also watches a lot of movies. Brandon stalks All Time Low on Twitter.
8 - Where does the inspiration for the songs?
TJ writes all the songs from everyday experiences. A lot of the songs are about our journey up to Tennessee, especially "Never Look Back".
9 - Who is dating and who is single?
We don't kiss and tell!
